The Nano Adventure Reconnect Retreat

In 2021, the world was exhausted - and in order to reconnect, first, we must disconnect…

Stop. Retreat. Rest. Revive.

These are the four fundamentals to bringing us back to ourselves at the point we begin to feel overwhelmed. In 2021, the entire world was feeling it. The personal training industry had spent 18 months in uncertainty, trying to keep their communities motivated, physically and mentally well, under incredibly unstable conditions.

I wanted to change that.

As my final piece of work before starting maternity leave, I had the pleasure of leading the Nano Adventure Reconnect Retreat, a vision I had wanted to bring to life since we went into our first UK lockdown in March 2020.

The concept of this retreat was based on We Are The Antidote, where I create healthy and sustainable leaders so that brands, communities, and individuals can thrive. Physical, mindful and emotional wellbeing, which make up our personal Wellbeing Circuit, begin and end with a connection to the Self, and so this was a perfect concept to integrate into the launch of the Nano X1 Adventure, a shoe designed to take on the outdoors, with deep roots in fitness, movement, and 'being more human'.

Having curated a truly fantastic group of guests from the media and fitness industries - who, let's face it, really deserved a break after the trials of the previous 18 months - the retreat was designed as an opportunity to switch off from the demands of the outside world, and reconnect with our inner calm, sense of self and in-built desire for joyful adventure.

Our guests were led through yoga and bootcamp sessions with Tyrone Brennand and Heather Horton, guided on a Lake District hike by Vikki Hughes, and at the top of Wansfell Pike I led a breathwork session to clear the body of unwanted emotion and restore balance to our internal Wellbeing Circuits. All of this with a backdrop of peace and serenity at the Low Wood Bay Hotel & Spa on the banks of Lake Windermere. The perfect balance of adventure, retreat and reconnection, not just with ourselves but with nature and the wonderful group of people we were in the company of.

The content output and feedback from attendees on both the retreat and the shoe speaks for itself, and I am incredibly proud of and grateful to everyone who worked on this project, and all of our amazing guests who really made it a retreat to remember!
